Wear resistance
Although the wear resistance of HDPE lining is lower than that of UHMWPE sheet, it is much better than ordinary metals and most plastics. Its low friction coefficient can reduce the friction resistance in material transportation, and is suitable for handling materials with small particles and low hardness, such as grain, fertilizer, sand and gravel. In addition, it can also be used as a lining in low-impact environments, such as light silos and small chutes.
Chemical corrosion resistance
The molecular structure of HDPE board is stable, and it has good tolerance to acids, alkalis, salts and organic solvents, and is not easily corroded by chemical media. This feature makes it suitable for lining of corrosive material storage or transportation equipment, such as chemical silos, waste liquid tanks in electroplating workshops, etc.
Good toughness
HDPE is a flexible material with high elongation at break. When impacted by materials, it can absorb energy through deformation and is not prone to cracks or fragmentation. Compared with metal linings, it can reduce the risk of lining shedding due to impact, especially suitable for intermittent impact scenarios.
Low density
The density of HDPE is about 0.94-0.96g/cm³, which is only about 1/8 of that of steel. The liner is light in weight and does not require heavy lifting equipment for installation. It can be fixed by bolts or welded. In the event of local wear in the later stage, the replacement cost of a single block is low and the maintenance difficulty is small.
Good low temperature resistance
HDPE wear-resistant liner can still maintain good toughness at low temperatures and will not become brittle due to low temperatures. This makes it suitable for outdoor equipment in cold areas, such as silos and open-air conveyor chute linings in northern mines.
Good processing performance
HDPE liner is easy to cut, weld, and bend, and can be processed into specific shapes and sizes according to the size of the equipment. In addition, it can also be modified by adding anti-ultraviolet agents, flame retardants, etc. to meet the special needs of different scenarios.
