Molecular Weight Selection: High-molecular-weight polyethylene (HMWPE) features a molecular weight exceeding 3 million. It offers superior wear resistance, making it suitable for high-load scenarios. Standard high-density polyethylene (HDPE) has a molecular weight range of 500,000 to 1 million. Its lower cost makes it appropriate for general protective requirements.

Raw Material Purity: Prioritize plates manufactured from virgin material to avoid performance degradation caused by recycled material, such as embrittlement and cracking.

 

2. Performance Metric Verification

Abrasion Resistance Test: Refer to the Akron abrasion volume (≤0.05 cm³/1.61 km) or Taber abrasion index (≤50 mg/1000 r). Lower values indicate superior abrasion resistance.

Impact Strength: Cantilever notch impact strength should be ≥20 kJ/m² to ensure impact resistance.
