Regular Cleaning to Remove Contaminants
Dust, oil residues, and chemical residues adhering to the UHMWPE sheet surface accelerate aging. When contaminants are present, wipe the surface with clean water or a neutral detergent. Avoid using strong acid or strong alkali cleaners.
Inspect and repair to address early aging
Regularly inspect the sheet condition, focusing on surface discoloration, micro-cracks, and reduced mechanical properties. For minor surface aging, reapply a thin layer of weather-resistant coating. For localized micro-cracks, first sand the surrounding area, then fill with UHMWPE-specific adhesive.
Proper Storage to Prevent Idle Aging
Unused UHMWPE sheets must be stored properly to prevent aging during storage. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated environment, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and chemical reagents. Stack products flat without heavy pressure, with a stack height not exceeding 1.5 meters.
