Polyethylene sheets are produced using two high-pressure liquid phase processes, namely the kettle method and the tubular method. The polymers produced by the kettle process have a narrow molecular weight distribution and have more branched chains, while the tubular process has a wider molecular weight distribution and fewer branched chains. With the exception of the polymerization reactor, the process steps of the kettle method and the tubular method are similar. With a maximum single-line reactor capacity of project-specific project requirement/year for the tubular method and project-specific project requirement/year for the kettle method, QGPC is a plant built in Qatar using Orchem (CdF) technology.
